What’s your massage style?
At Health First Chiropractic we have a broad range of massage styles available to suit your needs. Whatever your body type, age or health concern, we have a style to suit you. Be sure to let our therapists know, what your massage style is and we can tailor a treatment session that is specific to your needs.
If you’ve been experiencing muscle pain, tightness and tension then remedial massage is for you.
A remedial massage delivers a combination of gentle and firm techniques to loosen tight bands of muscle and ease muscle aches. Movements are applied to the varying layers of tissue at different depths to achieve a maximum release of tension.
Deep Tissue Massage
Do you prefer a firm massage with a considerable amount of pressure?
Deep tissue massage focuses on penetrating the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas responsible for neck tension, low back tightness and sore shoulders. The movements are generally slower and the pressure is deeper (stronger), concentrating on areas of tension and pain.
Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue in muscles, tendons and ligaments) to relieve pain and restore normal motion. Our experienced massage therapists are happy to modify the depth of massage, to ensure we can help you achieve the desired result.
Love sport and wish to enhance your sports performance and recuperation?
Sports massage is a type of massage geared toward the active individual. Specifically tailored to assist in recovery after heavy physical exertion, reducing the risk of injury, and helps enhance the overall physical performance of an athlete by increasing optimum motion and flexibility.
Whether you’re a professional athlete or a weekend warrior, regular sports massage will help you be at the top of your game.
Trigger Point Massage
Tight knots in your neck shoulder and back muscles that you just can’t seem to get rid of?
Trigger Point Massage is specifically targeted at removing these painful contracted or hyper-irritable points in our muscular tissue, using press-and-release methods. Using firm digital pressure the practitioner will locate these nodules and remove, leaving your muscles feeling lengthened, relaxed and functional again.
Available from the start of the second-trimester through to full term.
Mums-to-be, are you feeling tired? Having trouble sleeping? Back aching? Swollen feet and ankles?
Pregnancy massage is the perfect way to keep your body comfortable and energized for the miracle that is soon to happen.
During pregnancy your body undergoes many predictable changes, often resulting in localised areas of aching and discomfort. Pregnancy massage involves the therapist using a special massage table, pregnancy support pillow or modified position (depending on your most comfortable) to enable a truly wonderful massage that relieves the muscle cramps, back, shoulder and neck pain that pregnant women frequently suffer.
Of course, we always use products that are safe for you and your baby.
