Massage therapy is a natural complement to chiropractic care, with both focusing on treating the cause of pain rather than symptoms.
Chiropractic care centers around the nervous system, working with the spine, bones and joints to relieve musculoskeletal dysfunction.
Massage therapy focuses on the soft tissues like muscles and tendons that are connected to the bones. When combined, the two can be especially helpful.
Regular massage therapy can assist with:
- muscle relaxation
- general relaxation
- stress reduction
- recovery
- improving circulation
- improving posture
- increased flexibility
Whether you are looking to complement your chiropractic treatment with massage, or are simply seeking massage therapy on its own, Health First Chiropractic can support you.

Remedial massage
If you’ve been experiencing muscle pain, tightness and tension then remedial massage is for you.
A remedial massage delivers a combination of gentle and firm techniques to loosen tight bands of muscle and ease muscular aches. Movements are applied to the varying layers of tissue at different depths to achieve a maximum release of tension.
Deep tissue massage
Do you prefer a firm massage with a considerable amount of pressure?
Deep tissue massage focuses on penetrating the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is ideal for chronically tense and contracted areas responsible for neck tension, low back tightness and sore shoulders. The movements are generally slower and the pressure is deeper (stronger), concentrating on areas of tension and pain.
Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue in muscles, tendons and ligaments) to relieve pain and restore normal motion. Our experienced massage therapists are happy to modify the depth of massage, according to your desired result.
Trigger point massage
Tight knots in your neck shoulder and back muscles that you just can’t seem to get rid of?
Trigger point massage is specifically targeted at removing these painful contracted or hyper irritable points in muscular tissue, using “press and release methods.” Using firm pressure the massage therapist will locate these nodules and release, leaving your muscles feeling lengthened, relaxed and functional again.
Sports massage
If you’re an avid sports player or engage in a lot of fitness activities and wish to enhance your activity and performance, then it’s time to add sports massage to your routine.
Sports massage is geared toward the active individual. Specifically tailored to enhance the overall physical performance of an athlete and reduce the risk of injury by increasing optimum motion and flexibility. Whether you’re a professional athlete or a weekend warrior, regular sports massage will help you be at the top of your game.
Sports recovery massage
Stiff, sore and aching muscles after a game? Wish you could shorten your recovery time?
Best performed as soon as possible following an event, sports recovery massage is geared towards reducing the amount of recovery time required by the athlete. Using techniques to gently stretch affected muscles and encourage vascular supply to the tissues, sports recovery massage works on reducing immediate muscle soreness and minimise DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).
Experience relief, relaxation and be back to your game in no time, with a professional sports recovery massage.
Pregnancy massage
Our relaxing pregnancy massage services are available from the start of the second trimester through to full term.
Pregnancy massage is useful for:
- tiredness
- sleeping troubles
- backaches
- shoulder and neck pain
- swollen feet and ankles
- low energy
- muscle cramps
- general discomfort.
At Health First Chiropractic, our pregnancy massage will involve a special massage table, pregnancy support pillow or modified position (depending on your most comfortable), plus pregnancy friendly products, to enable a truly wonderful massage that is relaxing and soothing.
Lymphatic drainage massage
Tired of swollen legs or arms causing a stiff feeling? Perhaps you’ve been diagnosed with fluid retention or lymphedema?
Using gentle, rhythmical massage techniques to stimulate the circulation of lymph fluid around the body, lymphatic massage can reduce retained fluid and the uncomfortable pressure associated.
Lymphatic drainage massage is not a muscular massage but a gentle, mechanical sweeping of tissues to facilitate decongestion of lymph ducts and restoration of fluid flow.
You’ll leave feeling lighter, energised and less swollen.
Massage fees
Our massage rates are very competitive and your appointment will be with a qualified and experienced Adelaide massage therapist.

We also offer massage vouchers, so you can give the gift of massage to someone else.
